Arthur Martins takes a plural tour of regional rhythms in a debut EP where the roots of Brazilian music pulse. Walking through the sacred and the profane, the carioca takes the Bahian percussion of the Afro blocks, the samba-rock of Rio de Jorge Ben and Seu Jorge, and ends up in the samba-reggae and the ijexá. “Novo Homem” is the declaration of an artist who arrives on the scene without giving up on reflecting his origins.

“Novo Homem” reflects the personal changes that inspired the composition of the three tracks. The beginning with “Estrada Real” also announces the beginning of a journey. The song reflects the stages of the beginning of a relationship, in a reference to the Roman path Via Appia. The title track won a clip where Arthur translates the lyrics about a renaissance into images, proposing a new concept of masculinity. Finally, “Preciso Gritar” dialogues with mental health issues, having been written during a depressive crisis.

To give shape to the songs, he co-produced the work with Tiago Nunes, a musician from Bahia who is a member of the Orkestra Rumpilezz of maestro Letieres Leite and an instrumentalist in several projects such as Maria Bethânia, Bell Marques, Julia Vargas and others.
