about
Born in Cidade de Deus, a community in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and from a religious home, Arthur Martins uses the imagery of the sacred to explore the desire to be a better person and that it is never too late to start over. This appears in “Novo Homem”, a single and a clip that mark the artist's debut and anticipate his debut EP.
“New Man” was written in the beginning of a relationship and in the midst of a search for new beginnings. The album is produced by Arthur with Tiago Nunes, a Bahian musician who is a member of the Orkestra Rumpilezz of maestro Letieres Leite and an instrumentalist who performed alongside artists such as Maria Bethânia, Bell Marques and Julia Vargas.
The record unites the samba-rock from Rio de Janeiro, by Jorge Ben, Bebeto and Seu Jorge with the Bahian percussion of the Afro blocks, arising from the touches of candomblé, resulting in urban rhythms, such as samba-reggae, and more traditional ones, such as ijexá
lyrics
Fechei a porta
Sou novo homem
Agora posso ser feliz
Abri um'outra
Que dá no quando eu sou
Novo homem, novo homem
Tudo isso eu aprendi com o Pai
Tudo isso eu aprendi
